What changed in 2026 β and what it means for you
Thailand’s visa-free treatment for Indians has stayed in place through 2026, but the length of stay is being reduced. A May 2026 proposal to move Indians onto a paid Visa on Arrival was dropped on 14 July 2026, and India was instead added to the 30-day visa-exemption list β the same category as many European countries. That 30-day rule is pending Royal Gazette publication and takes effect around 15 days after it is published. In the meantime, travellers arriving are still being given the familiar 60-day stamp. The TDAC β do this before you fly
Every traveller to Thailand, including Indians on visa-free entry, must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online. Fill it in within 72 hours before arrival and carry the confirmation. There is no fee for the TDAC itself β beware of look-alike sites that charge one; use the official Thai government portal.
